OCC Rainbow Maker Day 3

For Day 3's cards, I cut strips of paper of various shades and shapes to create the background.  I used a My Favorite Things Chevron background die to cut some black cardstock and the rainbow background I created.  I switched the background and pieces to create 2 cards.  I cut the sentiment from Honey Bee's "Happy" die and heat embossed the birthday sentiment from Winnie and Walter The Big the Bold the Happy set.

OCC Rainbow Maker Day 2

I made a rainbow plaid background using border stamps from Paper Smooches and Alley Way and Simon Says Stamp inks.  Simon Says Stamp "You" die and stamp set for the sentiment.  The borders didn't go all the way across the background, so I cut a heart from Lawn Fawns Stitched Hearts.

OCC Rainbow Maker Day 1

I followed Kristina's "Edge Blending with a stencil" tutorial to create my card.  I used Bristol cardstock, Clarity Stencil Brushes, a Hero Arts stencil (cannot remember the name), and created the rainbow using Distress Ink in Candied Apple, Mustard Seed, Blueprint Sketch, and Wilted Violet.  I cut the vellum accent from a Simon Says Stamp die and the Hello sentiment was die cut from a My Favorite Things die.  Wink of Stella over the "hello" to add some sparkle.

OCC Clear & Sheer Day 4

OCC Clear & Sheer Day 4
For the last day of class I followed Jennifer's idea and dry embossed on some Hero Arts Acetate cards I had stashed away.  I die cut some banners and "happy" sentiment and created another Mother's Day card.

OCC Clear & Sheer Day 2

For Day 2, I chose to make some Mother's Day cards and use the tip of breaking up a busy patterned paper with vellum panel.

I colored the Bears and Elephants with Spectrum Noir, heat embossed the sentiments with Ranger Copper Super Fine Detail powder.  I had  some cork Heart embellishments that I colored with a red marker and glued with Multi Medium Matte.  I adhered the Bear/Elephant with tape runner and on the back of the vellum adhered with tape runner where the animal was.  I also used some Multi Medium Matte under the hearts for an additional point of attachment.

Paper: Authentique Nestled 6X6, Paper Trey Ink Kraft cardstock
Stamp: Hero Arts Lil' Hoot
Embellishments: Studio Calico Hearts

OCC Clear & Sheer Day 1

Online Card Classes: Clear and Sheer Day 1

I went with simple elegance for my first card for this class.  I heat embossed a Simon Says Stamp background with WOW Metallic Silver embossing powder. I die cut a "thanks" sentiment from DCWV metallic cardstock.  I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere the sentiment to vellum that was trimmed slightly smaller than the background panel and to adhere the vellum to the background.

Paper: Simon Says Stamp, Paper Trey Ink Vellum, DCWV Metallic
Sentiment; Paper Smooches "thanks"
Stamp: SSS Leaves Background

OWH Top 14 of 2014

OWHtop14

2014 has been a whirlwind of a year.  I had to take Summer off from school because my clinical site wasn't approved until classes began and Fall off because I wasn't sure about the internet access I would have while volunteering in South Africa at VulPro. Volunteering for a month with VulPro was just an amazing life altering experience.  I can't tell you how much I want to go back and clean up the Vulture Restaurant (says the vegetarian!).  I had good intentions of sending my small box of cards to Sandy at OWH before my trip, but I just wasn't able too.  But when I returned, that's one of the first things I did and to my amazement, she featured me in an unboxing video! Anyway, to this post.  Sandy wants us to chose our Top 14 cards from 2014, So here's my list:

I think this one is my favorite of all.  Its an OWH fundraiser set.  It's CAS.  And OWLS!

I made this one after taking the Stenciled Online Card Class.  It was a challenge for me to do something abstract with the offset layered pieces.

Another CAS, but the elephants from Lawn Fawn are just too adorable.

Feathers!

Another OWH fundraiser set with this paper is just adorable.

A Patriotic card.  Love this Paper Smooches Eagle.

I didn't send this one to OWH, but it definitely is in the cards for this year. (ha...see what I did there...in the cards....yeah....)

This one is a card I created from the Watercolors Online Card Classes.  And Patriotic!

To be honest, I don't really remember making this one.  I was probably enjoying a delicious adult beverage, or 2...At any rate, I love the bright sunshiny colors.

I got this Mama Elephant stamp when it was released so some of the sales proceeds could go to OWH.  And its one of the first cards I jumped on the sequin bandwagon.

I really like the contrasting stars on this one.

I totally CASE'd this one, but I used an OWH fundraiser stamp and distressed it a bit and love the rustic look it took.

I got this Downy Woodpecker stamp and had to immediately watercolor it.  CAS, and an adventure for me to do a realistic watercolor image.

And another Paper Smooches Eagle, but my favorite part are those cork stars.  LOVE!

Thanks for stopping by and running down memory lane with me.  Be sure to stop by the other blogs participating in the HOP and get inspired!

December ODBD Challenge

Gosh, it's been a while.  What a crazy busy fall it's been.  Between a family vacation to the beach, birthdays and that little month-long trip I took to Africa, I haven't had time.  I'll post on all that at some other time. Since I last posted an ODBD Challenge for Operation Write Home, I'll begin again with December's OWH.  December's Challenge is to use primary colors (red, yellow, and blue).  So here's my card

I used:
Paper: Paper Tray Ink
Ink: Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red, Island Blue, Lemon Chiffon
Stamp: AltNew Superscript 2, Hero Arts Tiny Flags
Die cut star with glossy accents.

Thanks for stopping by!

July ODBD Challenge

I'm a bit late to the party and there are already over 50 cards, but I just have to participate in this months challenge. July's challenge is "Things With Wings".  I think a bigger challenge for me would be to make a card without a feather, bird, or owl!
So here's my submission

I used Art Impressions Birthday Whoot and colored with PrismaColor.
Paper is from We R Memory Keepers Feelin' Groovy.

Thanks for stopping by!
